Window into the best of Taiwan technology
Taiwan Trade Center, Bucharest
A large crowd flocked to Taiwan Expo 2019 to learn about its smart city technologies, Industry 4.0 and other products at the Setia SPICE Arena in Relau, Penang.

Organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the event featured 110 booths showcasing products and services from 140 Taiwanese manufacturers.

“This is the third time we are in Malaysia and the first time in Penang,” said TAITRA chairman James C.F. Huang. “Taiwan Expo first came to Malaysia in 2017 and it was a big success.”

“We have generated business opportunities for Malaysia and Taiwan,” Huang said.

Representing Gigabyte Technology, sales engineer Ryo Lim said the expo would bring customers closer to their award-winning products that included laptops, mini PCs, motherboards and servers.

When asked about the trend of Internet of Things (IoT) and Gigabyte’s marketing strategy in Malaysia, Lim said the company was focusing more on Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT).

“We are poised to extend our scope in business servers and cloud systems with hardware and software solutions that integrate AI and AloT applications to develop an ideal infrastructure for future prospects in 5G,” he said.

Another exhibitor was Éonus International Health Care which showcased its high-end oral checkups and medical services which included prosthodontics, oral surgery, invisible orthodontic aligners, dental implants, orthodontics and more.

Éonus International manager Belle Liu said that the company is an international medical institute certified by Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Also present were Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (Malaysia) representative Anne Hung, former International Trade and Industry Minister Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz as well as representatives from trade associations across Malaysia.
